about

Heather Normandale and Music InPlace present "Raven."

Featuring Honey of the Heart on backing vocals, mandolin, and guitar, Paul Sounder on bass, and Marlon Aldana on percussion, Raven was written, produced, and directed by Heather Normandale.

During the first year of the pandemic, when people were making huge life changes, Heather's longtime bassist Paul Sounder decided to move back to Alabama to be near his family. The sudden change inspired the sharing of deep feelings that spun the wheel of fate between them. Although on opposite sides of the country, they stayed connected throughout the next six months, being familiar supports during unfamiliar times. Heather wrote Raven as a birthday present to invite Paul back to California if the wheel of fate agreed. Around it spun and back he did come, to continue something old and begin something new.

Heather Normandale has been writing and recording soulful folk songs for over a decade, using music for environmental activism and teaching embodiment through voice.
