The Sea is my Man

about

A valentine for the ocean

lyrics

The sea is my man, and I’m like the land when the sand’s getting caught in the wind
The rise of the waves touch the shore of my legs caressing so soft on my skin
On the water's wide edge lie the shells of the dead like an oracle read from the sky
The birds circle my head singing songs as they’re fed by the breezes that make us all high

Pulling me out, -
Pulling me in
Tearing myself -
With anticipation
Hearing your pleas I still land on my knees
On the land once again
I try to stay brave through temptation of waves in some rational craze, logically
I’m told I cannot by myself but why not on my lips all they taste is the sea
On the land it will glide I can feel it inside, and outside my mind in a whirl
This girl is the shore and within every pore, she knows life is more than this world.

Foam on her toes,
a part of her rose,
jumping in with her clothes
The tide’s moving in, they forget about sin,
and just jump in and swims
With the night,

Rising to leave I still cannot believe how the water so cool can collect
Temptation and doubt and untamable clout
And the pieces of us we neglect.
